However, I was wrong. The script and acting left me feeling bored and thinking, “when is the movie going to end?”
I was optimistic for FSOG and I am disappointed on how it turned out. It is partially because I read the entire series and I’m not afraid to admit I enjoyed it.
I try to read all books that come with movies before seeing the film because then I feel I have a better understanding for the love of the characters and why it’s such a phenomenon. I have done no differently with FSOG.
Though it’s not the best book I have read I respect all works of fiction/non-fiction because it takes such a profound amount of dedication and time to write a novel. Although FSOG comes with many naysayers, there is also an endless amount of support by fans. I am all for reading and trying new things but I have never been the biggest fan of romance or any type of erotica novel. My favorite genres range from action to horror but that does not mean I will completely throw any romance novel to the dogs. If it is accompanied by great reviews or widely popular then I’ll give it a shot.
However, at the end of the day, I have to give an honest opinion and for grading purposes, I give Fifty Shades of Grey a c-.
If you think differently, of the grade I gave it please comment down below or tell me what you thought of the books or the movie. If you have not read or watched it, I think you should give either one a chance because even though I disliked it you may enjoy it.
WARNING!!! The movie is rated R (for obvious reasons) so DO NOT take your kids to see it.
Below is the lyric video for one of my favorite songs on the Fifty Shades of Grey soundtrack. Even if though the movie left me disappointed the music was defiantly the best part.
