I went to see Kingsman the same day I saw Fifty Shades of Grey and if I compared the two movies (even though they are two completely different genres), I would say KTSS blew FSOG out of the water.
I was amazingly surprised when I went to see this with a friend and that friend just happens to be the same person I had taken with me to see The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 1. For those of you who don’t remember she is the one who fell asleep. However, she did not dose of once when watching KTSS and for good reason because the movie was incredible!
Before seeing Kingsman, I had already made assumptions about it as I do with most of the movies I watch. I assumed it to be like every other spy/action movie I have seen before, which is the main character has a dark and brooding past that makes him the mysterious womanizer that cannot help but make you feel bad for him…even while he is killing people.
Kingsman was very conscious of the clichés and took to giving a new view of a spy movie. It has dark humor and a wonderfully vibrant script with actors who gave a stellar performance. However, it saddens me that an outstanding movie like Kingsman was overshadowed by the tragedy known as Fifty Shades of Grey.
If you have not seen this movie yet, I recommend you do as soon s you get the chance. If you have seen it comment below and tell me what you liked or disliked. Moreover, to the people who have read the graphic novels I would love to read your thoughts on the movie compared to them.
WARNING! Kingsman: The Secret Service is Rated R so keep that in mind when buying tickets.
